Dr. Katrin Schmidt, DVM
Dr. Katrin Schmidt is in charge of making sure all team members understand their impact on the client-and-pet experience to ensure a better outcome for all. She was born and raised in Germany in a rural mountain setting. She enjoyed horseback riding and country living at an early age. In fact, she spent most of her childhood working with animals including horses. Training horses exposed her to many of the behaviour principles we apply to most species, including humans. As a teenager, she lived in Dallas, Texas, and Hudson, Quebec.
Since graduating with a BSc. in 1991 and a DVM in 1993, Dr. Schmidt—along with her husband, Dr. Bolton—has been a veterinary practice owner since 2000. She co-founded the Barrie Veterinary Emergency Clinic in 2001.
Dr. Graham Balson, DVM
With over three decades of veterinary experience, Dr. Graham Balson brings exceptional knowledge and technical skill to our team. Practicing since 1989, he has pursued additional training in pathology and has developed particular expertise in surgery, microscopy, and diagnostic medicine. Whether he is in the operating room or analyzing samples under the microscope, Dr. Balson is known for his precision, dedication, and calm, confident approach to care. Dr. Balson is currently available in the clinic two days a week, and always brings his signature blend of warmth, wisdom, and clinical excellence to every patient and family he meets.

Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
Stefanie, an OAVT-certified technician, is a dedicated member of our team who grew up around animals on a farm in Southwestern Ontario. Initially inspired by her love for horses, Stefanie’s expertise and compassion extend to all animals, especially cats and dogs. She skillfully assists with medical procedures, laboratory diagnostics, and surgeries, ensuring your pets receive attentive, professional care.
Danielle
Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
Danielle, a Registered Veterinary Technician certified by the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians (OAVT), supports our veterinary team with her skillful assistance during surgeries, medical procedures, and diagnostic testing. Danielle’s passion for large breed dogs make her an invaluable resource for clients. Her attentive nature ensures every pet receives gentle, personalized care during their visit.
Valentina
Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
Valentina is a recent graduate of the University of Guelph Veterinary Technician program entering the field with enthusiasm, compassion, and a deep commitment to animal care. With an outgoing and personable nature, she strives to build strong relationships with both clients and their pets, ensuring each visit is as stress-free and comfortable as possible. Sharing a special love for cats, she is a strong advocate for feline health and well-being. With a strong personal interest in diagnostic imaging, laboratory procedures, and surgical support, she offers a growing skill set that makes her a valuable asset to our veterinary team.

Carrying years of invaluable experience in animal welfare and shelter medicine, Caroline is often your first point of contact at Campbellville Animal Hospital. With a welcoming personality and extensive background in animal care, she expertly addresses client concerns, coordinates appointments, and ensures each visit is stress-free and positive. Passionate about animal welfare, she brings compassion and understanding to every interaction.

Abigail
Abigail is the friendly and dedicated Customer Service Representative who is passionate about creating a welcoming and supportive experience for both clients and their pets. With over four years of experience in multiple animal care settings, she brings a strong background in client service and patient care to the team.
Abigail has a special interest in animal behaviour and takes pride in helping both clients and pets feel as calm and comfortable as possible during their visits. Growing up in a family involved in the horse racing industry, she developed a deep love, respect and understanding for animals from a young age.
At home, Abigail cares for her rescue dog Sansa and two rescue cats, who keep her busy and inspired every day. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys reading and photography.
